Front Yard Tour 2009 Yellow Insect Tour Starts 3-8-09, there are 18 pictures & reads from the bottom up.

Here is a little yellow winged instect that landed right in front of me when I was looking at the berries on the P. cantha bush. I was quick to get this shot as I will not likely find him again.

I looked long and hard for the birds today, I could hear them and even the neighborhood woodpecker but there were none close enough for me to shoot. Perhaps the cats kept them away, do you suppose?
So I went downstairs to the canary room and here is a bird for you. one of my male canaries...They too are happy Spring is near. K

This abbrovite pine was indeed about 15 ft tall and the wind took it down by uprooting. You can see it just behind the deer's head sort of lying on the fence..K

Front Yard Tour 2009 - Praying Mantis Cocoons in the Forsythea

I must have found 9 Praying Mantis coccons in the Forsythea, they were busy this Fall. I will not distrub any of them and hopefully I will be able to get pictures of the cacoon opening. I guess I need to tag the branches they are on because if you look close you will see the Forsythea buds are green and starting to grow..Oh Spring is here. I love the detail on each cacoon. K
